Community Recycling Centres
New Community Recycling Centres (CRC) have been built in different Council areas to help deal with problem wastes produced from households that should not be thrown in our garbage bins including:
- Paint
- Gas bottles
- Fire extinguishers
- Motor and other oils
- Car batteries
- Household batteries
- Smoke detectors
- Fluorescent globes and tubes
Only household quantities of these materials will be accepted (generally 20litres or 20kg of each waste type). Please ensure you handle and transport your items carefully. Protect your vehicle by placing items on a protective sheet or tray to capture any leakages or breakages.
Household Chemicals
Household chemicals can be disposed of at the annual Household Chemical Clean Out event. Contact your local Council for dates of these events or check out the EPA website for dates.
Mobile Phones
Mobile phones can be recycled using the MobileMuster program, visit Mobile Muster for your nearest drop off point or to obtain a free reply paid recycling satchel.
